Ignoring the Obvious

Why it is that we tend to ignore the obvious, the stuff that’s right in front of us, big, bold and bodacious? For instance someone tells you something over and over and over again and you stand there with your fingers in your ears singing, la-la-la-la-la-la.

Then one day you hear it loud and clear and wonder how could you have missed it? Chances are you didn’t want to hear it or believe it. What was being said or done was not what you wanted, it was uncomfortable, or it didn’t fit in with your plans.
