Today’s Motivation WHAT FEATHERS TEACH ABOUT WORDS

WHAT FEATHERS TEACH ABOUT WORDS

What comes out of our mouth is just as important as the
thoughts that drive the words.

A young Rabbinical student asked his master to teach him
the power of words.

The Rabbi gave him a bag of feathers and told him to place
one feather at the door of each home in their village.

The student did as he was told and upon returning to his
master asked about his next task. The Rabbi told the student
he was to return to each door and retrieve all of the feathers
he had placed there.

The student protested stating that surely all of the feathers
had been blown away from the doors and retrieving them
would be near to impossible.

The Rabbi praised his student for learning his lesson well.

And, so it is with words. They are like feathers for once
spoken they can never be retrieved.

Choose what you say to others with great care and, more
importantly, choose what you say to yourself with greater care.
