Today’s Motivation – Character

People working together… building, sharing, lifting, helping, encouraging… can accomplish anything.

The final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.

Today’s Motivation – BLUFF Theory

Above all, be honest in all of your dealings. Making false statements, trying to deceive your way to success never works. Always be able and ready to back up your actions and statements. People will either see right through you or see you for the person of character that you are.

BLUFF Theory

The secret to bluffing is not to bluff. Never lay down an ultimatum unless you’re prepared to follow through on it.

Today’s Motivation – Character Defined

Character Defined

You’ve got a great idea and can’t wait to get it going. It will easily go global. You’re so excited! And, a week later the luster is gone and so is your eagerness. Do you pursue your idea, do you press on in the face of the task ahead? That, some say, defines your character.

“Character is the ability to carry out a good resolution long after the excitement of the moment has passed.”
~Cavett Robert, founding father of the National Speakers Association

Today’s Motivation – Dreams to Dust

Dreams to Dust

Countless are the times that your dreams have been thwarted, when swarms of obstacles block your desires and masses of difficulties and complications hinder. The time is then to exhibit character, regroup and press on.

“When your dreams turn to dust, vacuum.”  ~Author Unknown

Today’s Motivation LEADERSHIP’S GREAT CHALLENGES

LEADERSHIP’S GREAT CHALLENGES

Leadership demands a quality and strength of character
that is, by definition, uncommon and exemplary. Jim
Rohn calls leadership life's greatest challenge, and one
that demands constant refinement.

Leaders must learn to be strong without being rude.
Leaders are kind but not weak.
Leaders must be bold without being a bully.
Leaders are humble but not timid.
Leaders are proud but not arrogant.
And leaders are fun but not foolish.

Each of us has the potential for leadership: in our family,
our community, our business. Leaders are the people who
make something of themselves, and who bring out the
best in others.

When all is said and done, there are few things that can
be more rewarding than to be an effective leader.

Are you leading today?

Today’s Motivation ZIGLAR ON CHARACTER

ZIGLAR ON CHARACTER

Hilary Hinton "Zig" Ziglar (1926 - ) is an American author,
salesperson, and motivational speaker.

Character - the aggregate of features and traits that form
the individual nature of some person or thing, good repute,
qualities of honesty, courage, or the like; integrity.

Here are some of Zig’s thoughts on character. Read through
all of them.

==================

“If standard of living is your major objective, quality of life
almost never improves, but if quality of life is your number
one objective, your standard of living almost always improves.”

“When a company or an individual compromises one time,
whether it's on price or principle, the next compromise is
right around the corner.”

“If people like you they'll listen to you, but if they trust you
they'll do business with you.”

“What you do off the job is determining factor In how far you
will go on the job.”

“Keep your thinking right And your business will be right.”

“Ability can take you the top, but it takes character to keep
you there.”

“The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to his or
her commitment to excellence, regardless of his or chosen
field of endeavor.”

“You build a successful carreer, regardless of your field of
endeavor, by the dozens of little things you do on and off the
job.”

”When you exercise your freedom to express yourself at the
lowest level, you ultimately condemn yourself to live at that
level.”

“With integrity you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing
to hide. With integrity you will do the right thing, so you will have
no guilt. With fear and guilt removed you are free to be and do
your best.”

“When I discipline myself to eat properly, live morally, exercise
regularly, grow mentally and spiritually, and not put any drugs
or alcohol in my body, I have given myself the freedom to be at
my best, perform at my best, and reap all the rewards that go
along with it.”

“When we do more than we are paid to do, eventually we will be
paid more for what we do.”

Today’s Motivation - OUR GREATEST ASSET

OUR GREATEST ASSET

Sound character is our greatest asset. It provides the power with which we may ride the upsets of life instead of going down under them.

Persons of sound character have a positive mental attitude developed through the upsets that naturally come from being alive. They are honest, have a reputation for integrity. They are someone to be counted upon through thick and thin.

As you face each instance life places in your path take it on so to develop your character. Always focus on an honorable solution that advances a purpose to better all.

Your Daily Motivation - WHAT PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE

YOUR REPUTATION IS WHAT PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE; YOUR CHARACTER IS WHAT YOU ARE

You want your reputation and your character to match, but concentrate on your character. You may be able to fool others about the kind of person you really are for a time, but it seldom lasts for long.

The surest way to make sure your character and your reputation are the same is to live your life in such a way that nothing you do would embarrass you if it were printed on the front page of the newspaper.

Good character means not ever taking ethical shortcuts, even though everyone else may be doing so. You build good character by doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.

Today’s Motivation WHAT YOU THINK YOU BECOME

What You Think, You Become

Watch your thoughts, they become words.

Watch your words, they become actions.

Watch your actions, they become habits.

Watch your habits, they become character.

Watch your character, as it becomes your destiny.

Your Daily Motivation MAKING CHOICES IS YOUR GREATEST POWER

MAKING CHOICES IS YOUR GREATEST POWER

While your character is formed by your circumstances,
your desires can shape those circumstances.
The one thing over which you have absolute control is your own thoughts.
It is this that puts you in a position to control your own destiny.

Nature is constantly at work around you.
Character and destiny are her handiwork.
She gives you love and hate, jealousy and reverence.
You have the power to choose which impulse you follow.

At any time you can decide to alter the course of your life.
No one can ever take that away from you.
You can do what you want to do and be who you want to be.

Your greatest power is the power to choose.
