Today’s Motivation WHAT FEATHERS TEACH ABOUT WORDS

WHAT FEATHERS TEACH ABOUT WORDS

What comes out of our mouth is just as important as the
thoughts that drive the words.

A young Rabbinical student asked his master to teach him
the power of words.

The Rabbi gave him a bag of feathers and told him to place
one feather at the door of each home in their village.

The student did as he was told and upon returning to his
master asked about his next task. The Rabbi told the student
he was to return to each door and retrieve all of the feathers
he had placed there.

The student protested stating that surely all of the feathers
had been blown away from the doors and retrieving them
would be near to impossible.

The Rabbi praised his student for learning his lesson well.

And, so it is with words. They are like feathers for once
spoken they can never be retrieved.

Choose what you say to others with great care and, more
importantly, choose what you say to yourself with greater care.

Today‘s Motivation DIG DEEPER

DIG DEEPER

When the alarm goes off and you don’t want to move,
dig deep to find your motivation.

When traffic is snarled and you want to turn around and
go home, dig deep to stick with it.

When the boss, your client or customer is unpleasant,
contrary or critical, dig deep to step past it.

When there is more month left at the end of the money,
dig deep to persevere.

There is always more than you think, a larger spirit from
which to draw when you dig a little deeper.

Today’s Motivation A SALUTE TO YOUR CONTRIBUTION

A SALUTE TO YOUR CONTRIBUTION

In America today is an official celebration called Labor Day.
It originally started out to honor the men and women workers
and their families. And, we do honor them to this day.

But, I think Labor Day today has taken on a new meaning,
or it could.

We all labor at something in our lives. We put in time at work,
on a job, at home for either ourselves or for another. We teach,
contract, drive, administrate, meet, market, sell  paint, mow,
pilot and on and on.

Each of us contributes to the well being of society in our own way.
Today is a day to celebrate that contribution and to acknowledge us.

Thank YOU for all that you do!

Today’s Motivation MAKE ME FEEL IMPORTANT

MAKE ME FEEL IMPORTANT

The best sound in the world is the sound of our own name. We all want
to feel that we are important to others, important in the scheme of things.

Here is a very wise saying from a very successful lady.

"Every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says,
'Make me feel important.' If you can do that, you'll be a success not only
in business but in life as well." ~Mary Kay Ash

Today’s Motivation END OF THE MYTH OF MULTITASKING

END OF THE MYTH OF MULTITASKING

The ad read “must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment”
and you think you’re very good at multitasking. Human multitasking
is the performance by an individual appearing to handle more than
one task at a time. There is good news today and there is bad news.

If you are a computer you can actually perform multiple tasks at the
same time and do it very efficiently. If you are a human you can
actually perform ONE task at a time and do it very efficiently.

Multitasking can result in time wasted due to human context switching
causing more errors due to insufficient attention. A human cannot
effectively listen to an interview and type an unrelated email at the
same time and expect peak performance at both.

The good news is, as a human, you can do the one thing you are doing
at the moment very well and then move on to the next task. Excellence
and impeccability are their own rewards.

Today’s Motivation SNUGGLING WITH REALITY

SNUGGLING WITH REALITY

See things as they really are, not as you imagine or hope they are.
Truth isn't a matter of your personal viewpoint, nor can your point
of view shape the facts.

The truth does not change because it is, or is not, believed by a majority
of people. If sixty million people say a foolish thing, it's still a foolish
thing. The sky is no less blue because the blind man does not see it.

No matter what you believe, it never changes the facts. The facts always
speak for themselves. Deal in reality; deal with what’s so. Assess the facts
and act upon them in truth and in honesty.

Today’s Motivation ENTREPRENEURS TWIN SISTERS

ENTREPRENEURS TWIN SISTERS

Innovation and invention are the twin sisters of entrepreneurs.
Can it be this simple? Experiment, fail, begin again.
