Daily Motivation – YOUR HABITS WILL PUSH YOU TOWARD SUCCESS

YOUR HABITS WILL PUSH YOU TOWARD SUCCESS

First you make your habits, and then your habits make you.

Break those habits that can break you. Adopt those practices
that will become the new habits that will help you achieve
the success you desire.

Your habits are a form of exercise. The harder you work at
something, the harder it is to quit. The easier it is to do, the
harder it is to change.

Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of
masters. You are what you repeatedly do.

Today’s Motivation MEDITATION – SPIRITUAL BENEFIT

MEDITATION – SPIRITUAL BENEFIT

Daily meditation will evolve into a fascinating journey of self
exploration and unfolding. As you continue to meditate you
will become more awakened to your true self.

The process of becoming spiritually enlightened may take some
time. Persistence in mediation is necessary to gain greater self-
awareness, the feeling of being more “connected” and a higher
sense of purpose.

Mediation can be a pathway to access the subconscious at a
level not reachable with conscious thought. Through medit-
ation you will nurture the soul, nourish the spirit and stir your
essence.

Time to begin. Close your eyes.

Today’s Motivation MEDITATION – MENTAL BENEFITS

MEDITATION – MENTAL BENEFITS

Who wouldn’t want better mental focus, concentration
and creativity, less stress and anxiety and greater peace
of mind? Meditation brings those thoughts and feelings
to the surface.

Meditation also uncovers hidden counter-productive and
harmful thoughts. When those thoughts or feelings appear
their power can be dispersed and allayed.

Meditation, unlike drugs or alcohol, has no harmful side
effects and it costs just 15 minutes of well-spent time. Its
benefits are long lasting and eventually become permanent.

Let’s begin. Close your eyes.

Today’s Motivation MEDITATION: EMOTIONAL BENEFITS

MEDITATION: EMOTIONAL BENEFITS

Meditating provides a wealth of emotional benefits.

Taking the few minutes to meditate each day can result in
the perspective needed to handle a busy schedule, bring
back a sense of “I can manage this” and peacefulness.

You might just feel less irritable and find a greater sense
of calm. You could feel less of the “fight or flight” response
and greater emotional control.

Your senses will be heightened and aroused as you begin
to notice the subtle beauty that surrounds you. Meditation
may even inspire solutions to pressing problems you face
thus releasing you from emotional stress.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale in his best seller “The Power
of Positive Thinking” urged everyone to take at least 15
minutes of quiet each day to calm the emotions and re-
vitalize the spirit. It was good advice in 1952 and even
more so today.

Begin by closing your eyes.

Today’s Motivation MEDITATION: PHYSICAL BENEFITS

MEDITATION: PHYSICAL BENEFITS

Meditating provides a wealth of physical benefits.

Through breathing and deep breathing, which is at the core
of any meditation session, increased circulation of oxygen to
the muscles reduces muscle fatigue and tension.

Meditation reduces stress and has been proven to lower high
blood cholesterol. Through the relaxation response meditation
also reduces the occurrence of pain, insomnia and headaches.
The ever important immune system is strengthened through
the practice of meditation.

Another major physical benefit of meditation is boundless
energy. Meditation helps you to connect to the eternal and
infinite flow of life giving energy. Meditation will help you to
tap into the vast amounts of energy that has set the universe
in motion.

Now, close your eyes and begin.

Today’s Motivation MEDITATION, A TIME FOR YOU

MEDITATION, A TIME FOR YOU

Meditation provides unparalleled benefits to all of the major
areas of human existence: Physical, Mental, Emotional and
Spiritual. This week we’ll examine each area’s benefits.

In our hectic daily environment meditation is an immediate
pathway to stress reduction. With meditation you take a break
from the onslaught, get away to peace and tranquility.

There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Find a quite place
and sit with your feet on the floor, uncrossed, hands resting
palms down on your thighs. Set a timer for 5, 10, 15 or more
minutes.

To begin, close your eyes and focus on your breath. Don’t alter
your normal breathing. As you mind wanders, bring it back to
your breath. As much as you can close out the things you have
to do, the good and bad in the world, the distractions around
you. Simply focus on you and your breathing.

There is nowhere to get to when you meditate. Some times in-
spirational thought may come to you. Be open to what the
Universe may share with you.

For the rest of this week we’ll look at the benefits in each of the
areas.

Close your eyes and begin.

Today’s Motivation I’M SO EXCITED!

I’M SO EXCITED!

This is exciting! I’m pumped. I’ve got something to
look forward to. I’m happy and smiling a lot. It’s all
I can think about. I can feel the appreciation, the
gratitude and the inspiration welling up in my chest.
Whoo, this is the bestest!

Wonder what it is? Got you curious, didn’t I? You
know, you can feel that way about anything. You
pick the thing about which you want to be excited.

Adults have a hard time getting excited. Children
don’t. They can get excited about most anything.
They are unreserved in their expression of anticip-
ation and enthusiasm. They jump up and down,
squeal and clap their hands. Put yourself into a
state of excitement, feel the emotion, the stimul-
ation, the arousal. And, excitement is contagious.

Take a risk today, show someone you’re excited
about something! Slap on a happy face, jump up
and down and let them wonder what’s up.

I double dog dare you!

Today’s Motivation RISK TAKING FOR DUMMIES

RISK TAKING FOR DUMMIES

One that would have the fruit must climb the tree.
~Thomas Fuller (1608 - 1661), an English author,
churchman and historian.

“In the long run, we get no more than we have been
willing to risk giving.”
~Anonymous

Virgil, the greatest of the Roman Poets, wrote 2,000
years ago, Fortune sides with him who dares. It’s a
subtle way of saying those who stick their neck out
are the ones who make progress… become successful.

We take risks every day. It is a natural part of living.
Threats come at us from unsuspecting and from
obvious places. The difference between the masses
of regular people and the successful is their willing-
ness to face the ordinary risks and embrace the
exceptional risks.

Security can never depend on outside things and
circumstances. It only comes from within. Those
who reject taking risks to guard their security,
willingly live in cages, trapped by their own fears.
There is no freedom in security.

RISK - a poem

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your dreams before a crowd is to risk ridicule.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure
But to risk we must, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing is one who does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrows, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow, or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave - he has forfeited his freedom.
Only a person who takes risks is FREE

Today’s Motivation TRUE GREATNESS

TRUE GREATNESS

It’s been repeated over and over again but it is worth
repeating again. Like the great Zig Ziglar says ““People
often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither
does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.”

When the stink of the humdrum and negative world
gets on you immerse yourself in a motivational moment…
like the one below.

"Let us consider the nature of true greatness in men.
The people who can catch hold of men’s minds and
feelings and inspire them to do things bigger than
themselves are the people who are remembered in
history. . . . those who stir feelings and imagination
and make men struggle toward perfection."
~Henry Eyring (1901-1981) American theoretical chemist

Today’s Motivation BECOME AN ARSONIST

BECOME AN ARSONIST - SET SOMEONE ON FIRE TODAY

Fire is a fascinating kind of phenomenon. As long as there is
fuel, oxygen and heat a fire will continue to burn. Add more
fuel and a fire will spread and grow.

It is much like setting a fire when you motivate another to act
on an idea. If we pretend that the fuel is an inspired idea, the
heat is a burning desire and action is the catalyst just like oxygen,
you've got all three elements to make a fire.

Combine all three – an inspired idea, burning desire and action
and one can start a fire. Stoking the flames will motivate one
who can motivate another and another and another.

All it takes is one person to set an entire community ablaze.

Who do you plan to ignite today?

Today’s Motivation INVICTUS

I thought I’d share a great short poem today. If
you’ve not read Invictus before take a moment
to glean it’s powerful lesson.

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Today’s Motivation WHY I MOTIVATE

WHY I MOTIVATE

I’ve been posting motivational material now for almost a year.
When I first started out I was just sharing another’s material.
(with permission, of course) As time passed I noticed that
pieces were beginning to repeat and this did not sit well with
me. So, I took to writing my own motivational messages.

Now I write for you to get my day started by writing. It’s become
a labor of love and I probably get more out of writing Today’s
Motivation than you do reading it. It gets me up in the morning
with purpose and direction. I get motivated and inspired first
thing every day because I take to heart every passage written.
In that respect I write Today’s Motivation for selfish reasons.
I write Today’s Motivation to get motivated.

I’ve learned that when you give from you heart you always get
more than you give.

Daily Motivation WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET

Visualize what you want. See it, feel it, believe in it. Your
mind is your mental workshop. You can build anything
you want in it. The beginning of your success is in your
imagination.

Make your mental blue print and then begin construction.
See things as you would have them be instead of as they are.

Use your imagination to perceive your new reality even
when it's not fully materialized. Remember, you must
first clearly see a thing in your mind before you can do it
or have it.

Your imagination will show you how to turn possibility
into reality. First think, then organize your thoughts into
plans. Then transform your thoughts into reality by taking
some positive action.

See the things you want as already yours. Think of them as
yours, as belonging to you, as already in your possession.

Picture yourself as having already achieved your goal.
Dreams and ideas can cross continents and oceans. They
go anywhere you can go.

What you see is what you get.

Today’s Motivation FOLLOW YOUR DREAM

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM

The only time to follow your dreams is now.

People are looking for vision, direction and leadership,
especially today.

We all have dreams. We all had dreams as children. The
trouble is, they often get buried in the day to day. Disen-
chantment creeps in because our dreams don't magically
appear. Just having the dream isn't enough – you must
commit to it, nurture it, take action toward it, get up when
you fail and take action again and again.

Remember, and this is key -- if you're not following your
dream, you're following someone else's.

Today’s Motivation FATHER TIME ROCK, ROLLS AND RULES

FATHER TIME ROCK, ROLLS AND RULES

(I reconnected with a couple of friends last evening and was
amazed at the amount of time that had passed since our
previous conversation. Wow, it was an entire year and it got
me to thinking.)

All of us are at the mercy of time. It is the great leveler. Every-
one on this planet, almost 7 billion of us are subjects of Father
Time. How often during the day do you check your watch or
cell phone? When was the last time you were late? Early? How
many times (no pun intended) have you put off something for
later? It’s not the right time, maybe later.

Most children understand time really well. I remember when
staying up late was a treat and getting up early was normal. I
was afraid I was going to miss something.

Father Time rolls along regardless. He cares not if your timing
is off. He keeps on rolling. He is unconcerned when you choose
to do the things you want. He just keeps on rolling along. He’s
going to keep rolling long after you and I have gone.

There are some things that are completely beyond our control
like when we are to leave the planet. What is within our control
is what we do today.

Hats off to Father Time and Mother Nature, too. You know they
make a pretty awesome couple.

Your Daily Motivation DESIRE IS THE STARTING POINT OF SUCCESS

DESIRE IS THE STARTING POINT OF SUCCESS

The first thing that will contribute to reaching your goal is that
you simply want to reach it badly enough.

You must learn how to desire with sufficient intensity to be
successful.

If you have the desire you have the power to attain success.
You can really have anything you want in life if you go after
it. But you have to want it.

As a drowning soul desires air, as a shipwrecked person craves
fresh water, so must you feel that intense, eager, insistent,
demanding, ravenous desire for your success.

Your desire for success must be so strong within you that it
becomes the very breath of your life. It must be your first
thought when you wake up, and your last thought when you
go to bed at night.

You can have anything you want if you go after it with intensity.

Today’s Motivation APPRECIATION, VIBRATION, ELATION

APPRECIATION, VIBRATION, ELATION

Appreciation raises your personal vibration. When you show
and express appreciation for someone or something you im-
prove your feelings. As soon as you begin appreciation your
good feelings become noticeably stronger. Your vibration
gets you closer and closer to a state of allowing and that is a
key part of the Law of Attraction.

You can play the Appreciation Game any where at any time.
Pick places that usually cause high stress and begin to apprec-
iate. For instance, being in traffic you can appreciate the
marvel of modern transportation, the smoothness of the
road, the choice of routes to take, the wonder of many sharing
a system, the color of your car, the entertainment on the radio
and so on and so on.

Sounds silly but it will raise your level of positive vibration and
put you instantly into a more powerful mood different than the
one before, a better one for sure.

“The word ‘appreciation’ means to be thankful and express
admiration, approval, or gratitude. It also means to grow or
appreciate in value. As you appreciate life, you become more
valuable—both to yourself and others.”

Today’s Motivation APPRECIATING YOU

APPRECIATING YOU

You are who you are. You are what you are. The first
step toward self-appreciation is accepting who and what
you are without question. You can’t change the past so
be grateful for the person you have become.

“The greatest single cause of a poor self-image is the
absence of unconditional love.”
~Zig Ziglar

Give yourself permission to love yourself because you
cannot be someone or something else. You are the only
one you will have in this lifetime. Appreciating the special
gifts you bring to life is essential for personal success.

“Success is not measured by what you do compared to
what others do, it is measured by what you do with the
ability God gave you.”
~Zig Ziglar

Take a look in the mirror today and thank your lucky
stars for the life you have and the goals you have set.

Today’s Motivation FROM THE MIND OF A CHILD

FROM THE MIND OF A CHILD

Once upon a time in a land far, far away you were a child. You
acted like a child, you behaved like a child, and you delighted
as a child. You had a wonderful way of appreciating the simple
things in life adding no meaning, taking it all as it came to you.

Remember, you could amuse yourself for hours with paper,
scissors and some glue. You were creative, innovating, in
wonder and awe about everything. You weren’t burdened
with preconceived notions. Your mind was open to new ideas
and possibilities because you didn’t know how it was “supposed”
to be.

As a child your imagination was always turn up to maximum.
Everything you saw, touched, smelled, heard or tasted became
part of the game. You got excited at the drop of a hat, loved
every minute, didn’t want to go to bed and couldn’t get up fast
enough in the morning.

So, just for today act more like a child. Look for the magic in the
world, the beauty and wonder that surrounds you. Be creative,
open-minded, impulsive and carefree. Delight in discovery and
let your heart’s desire bring forth the miracle from the child within.

Today’s Motivation THE GREATEST OF ALL MOTIVATORS

THE GREATEST OF ALL MOTIVATORS

The greatest motivator of all has moved men and woman
to incredible heights and lows. It has stirred the deepest of
yearnings and desires.

Blessed are those who have its driving force in their days.
Acting on its behalf they are capable of great deeps of good
and honor.

Those who don’t have the blessing yearn for its warmth, its
companionship, its essence of humanity. And, yet they must
exercise extreme caution not to harm as they seek the great
motivator.

Johnny Depp as Don Juan DeMarco (1995), makes sense of
it. “There are four questions of value in life... What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what
is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.”

Today’s Motivation WHAT COMES FIRST ACTION OR MOTIVATION?

WHAT COMES FIRST ACTION OR MOTIVATION?

The age-old unanswerable question, “Which came first
the chicken or the egg?”

The Law of Inertia states: “An object at rest tends to stay
at rest.”

A flash of insight comes and goes in an instant. It requires
action to become a reality. All great accomplishments began
as an idea, a thought, and it was some sort of real action
that transformed them into being.

Every once and a while we face a crossroad, we have to make

We have to determine what is fair, honest and in line with our

It is important to do the honorable thing, the right thing, the
thing that will set us apart from those who act thoughtlessly.
Doing the right thing shows respect not only for others but
for yourself. Doing the right thing with honor displaying our

Daily Motivation OPEN YOUR OWN DOOR TO SUCCESS

OPEN YOUR OWN DOOR TO SUCCESS

Success on any major scale requires that you accept responsibility.

The one quality that all successful people have is their ability to take
on responsibility.

You must choose the thoughts and actions that will lead you on to
success. Nothing will happen by itself.

It can all come your way, once you understand that you have to
make it come your way, by your own exertions.

Find your pathway to success and begin your journey.
Your life will become what you make of it.

The golden opportunity you are seeking lies within you. It's not in
your environment. It's not in luck or chance, or the help of others.
It's in you alone.

Opportunity is all around you. And if the door of opportunity is
closed, you must keep on knocking on it, and keep on knocking
on it until it opens.

You'll develop your opportunity by applying persistence to your
possibilities.

Success won't come to you, you must go to it. Become an opener
of doors.
