MEDITATION: EMOTIONAL BENEFITS
Meditating provides a wealth of emotional benefits.
Taking the few minutes to meditate each day can result in
the perspective needed to handle a busy schedule, bring
back a sense of “I can manage this” and peacefulness.
You might just feel less irritable and find a greater sense
of calm. You could feel less of the “fight or flight” response
and greater emotional control.
Your senses will be heightened and aroused as you begin
to notice the subtle beauty that surrounds you. Meditation
may even inspire solutions to pressing problems you face
thus releasing you from emotional stress.
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale in his best seller “The Power
of Positive Thinking” urged everyone to take at least 15
minutes of quiet each day to calm the emotions and re-
vitalize the spirit. It was good advice in 1952 and even
more so today.
Begin by closing your eyes.
