The stark reality is - things is the way things is. You must start from the way things are.

The sky is blue and no matter how much you wish it to be purple it’s still blue. Deal with it. Your mother is your mother; your body is your body. Deal with it.

No matter how much fantasizing you allow yourself to engage in the world is the way the world is, and it is like that for a reason. Deal with it.

REALITY Theory

Reality isn’t the way you wish things to be, nor the way they appear to be, but the way they actually are. Either you acknowledge reality and use it to your benefit, or it will automatically work against you.

Today’s Motivation – RATIONAL-ACTION Theory

A mother and daughter were preparing a holiday meal including a beautiful ham. Mom cut off the ends of the ham to which her daughter asked, “Why do you do that, cut the ends of the ham?” Mom replied, “Your grandmother always did it that way.” The little girl asked why.

They decided to find out and call grandma to which she said, “I used to cut the ends of the ham off because it didn’t fit in my roasting pan.”

Ta Da! Tradition!

RATIONAL-ACTION Theory
(aka PLASTIC-GLASS Theory)

Today’s Motivation – POSTURE Theory

When others see you as confident, purposeful, and as a leader you hold a certain degree of posture. When they sense you to be superbly capable and secure in what you do and who you are you demonstrate the unspoken language of posture.

POSTURE Theory

It’s not what you say or do that counts, but what your posture is when you say or do it.

How many times have you heard this truth? “If at first you don’t succeed try, try again.” Well, now you’ve heard it one more time.

Formula for failure: Try thirty-seven times. Formula for success: try thirty-eight times.

Today’s Motivation – PERVERSE-MEMORY Theory

Ever walk into a room and wondered what you went there for? Ever forget an important appointment, key detail, vital piece of information? Our brains are vastly capable of miraculous thinking, just not real reliable memory banks. Write it down!

PERVERSE-MEMORY Theory

The only time you can absolutely count on forgetting something is when it’s so important and so fresh in your mind that you’re certain you won’t. Discipline yourself to take notes – regardless of how sure you are that you won’t forget.

Today’s Motivation – PERSPECTIVE Theory

Today being Thanksgiving in the United States, this quote from Ringer need nothing from me. Happy Thanksgiving US, and for those elsewhere, Happy Thursday!

PERSPECTIVE Theory

Against a backdrop of an ageless universe, everyday problems have little significance. For best results, just hang loose and enjoy the challenge of solving them.

Today’s Motivation – OUT-OF-STEP Theory

The following the herd mentality will get you following the herd results. Blending in, being one of the pack will keep you from your greatness. Standing out, being different and memorable makes way for greater results. Dare to be different.

OUT-OF-STEP Theory

As a general rule, a person’s chances for success will tend to increase the more he’s out of step with the dictates of “conventional wisdom.”

Today’s Motivation – NOSE-TO-THE-GRINDSTONE Theory

Working at a job for forty years will merely assure you of four decades of aging. Innovation, risk taking, creation, entrepreneurship are the means to great achievement and satisfaction.

NOSE-TO-THE-GRINDSTONE Theory

If you do nothing else but keep your nose to the grindstone and work hard, long hours, you’re guaranteed to get only one thing in return: old.

Today’s Motivation – MONEY-VALUE Theory

MONEY-VALUE Theory
(aka FINANCIAL GEOMETRIC GROWTH Theory)

To an entrepreneur, the value of money is not measured by the amount of interest it can draw in a savings account. The “interest” accrued on it is the creative use to which the entrepreneur puts it.

Today’s Motivation – MAKEABLE-DEAL Theory

Got to have the next best thing, shiny object syndrome, over there is better than over here… and on and on and on.

Focus your attention on one thing and do that one thing well before moving on to the next.

MAKABLE-DEAL Theory

Expend your efforts in working hard to find one makeable deal, rather than working hard on an endless number of unmakeable deals and clinging to the faint home that you will somehow close one.

Today’s Motivation – LITTLE-WHITE-LIE Theory

The truth is not moldable. It’s not designed to be like clay in the potter’s hands to be shaped and fashioned to suit ones need. Attempting to manipulate the truth is like trying to see how close you can get a lit match to a dynamite fuse without lighting it.

LITTLE-WHITE-LIE Theory

The danger in telling little white lies, which wouldn’t cause too many problems of and by themselves, is that they tend to lead to big black lies, which cause lots of problems. Morally and pragmatically, a lie is a lie!

LINE-DRAWING-GAME Theory

Every person subjectively draws his own line concerning what is and is not “proper” action, based either on his own moral standards, the moral standards of others or what is convenient for him at the time of action. Unless you have an affinity for courtrooms, don’t assume, when doing business with someone that his moral standards coincide with yours.

Today’s Motivation – LIFE-COMPLICATION Theory

Life is never as complicated as one makes it out to be. In fact, there is usually a readily available answer that is so simple it seems absurd to consider.

Given a choice between an easy solution and a complicated one, the loser will usually opt to travel the complicated path. Don’t ignore a solution just because it’s simple!

Today’s Motivation – LEAPFROG Theory

Playing small will keep you small, unhappy and broke. Committing to play large will assure your triumph. Nowhere is this theory more true than with the entrepreneur, the solopreneur, the professionally self-employed and the network marketer.

LEAPFROG Theory

The quickest way to the top is not by fighting your way through the pack; the quickest way is to leapfrog over the pack. All you need is the ability and knowledge necessary to play the game on a higher level, plus the courage to stake you claim to your rightful place on the ladder.

Look in the mirror, therein lies the only secret to your success. All that counts is having a passionate vision for the one in the mirror and the action steps taken to fulfill that vision.

KNOW-IT-ALL Theory
(aka Organic Chemistry Theory)

Ignore the know-it-all! Whether or not someone else has “all the answers” is not relevant to your success. The only thing that is relevant is what you know and what you do.

Fooling yourself to think contrary to the truth will most probably cause a detrimental outcome. Hoping that things are different than they are, not dealing with reality will most definitely cause a nasty ending.

Adhere to your principles. Be steadfast to honor your word. Once you begin to allow slippage there can be no going back. Stick to your guns.

Today’s Motivation – DESPERATION Theory

Being at the end of your rope, being impulsive, will cause one to do things that would otherwise never be considered. The mere mention of despair, fear, hopelessness are reason enough to maintain a sense of joy, hope and confidence for the consequences are dire.
