Today’s Motivation CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES

CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES

Here’s one that is simple, quick and effective. Reward yourself
for a job well done.

When you accomplish a task, reach a milestone, break a record,
pass a test or close a deal it’s time to celebrate. Don’t question it,
just pat yourself on the back, buy a new outfit, take a trip, eat a
special meal, throw a party!

Without acknowledging achievement and successes you miss an
opportunity to empower yourself to go on to the next one. Take
the time to celebrate your successes.

Today’s Motivation EVERY PLAYER HAS A PART

EVERY PLAYER HAS A PART

You and I don’t live alone. Unless you live up the side
of a mountain with an Internet connection, we live in
a world surrounded by people. Our lives are filled with
others, family, co-workers, business prospects, drivers
on the roadways, strangers. Society functions best when
each of us does our part to make it work. And, of course,
each of us wants to be a success.

Whether you see it or not we work as a team. No one
stands alone and accomplishes anything. Even self-
made people encircled themselves with people in their
organization, each providing an essential piece.

"It is literally true that you can succeed best and
quickest by helping others to succeed."
~Napoleon Hill, (1883 - 1970) was an American
author who was one of the earliest producers of
the modern genre of personal-success literature.
His most famous work, “Think and Grow Rich”

Look around you. Each and every one of us is indispens-
able; each and every one of us must contribute. What is
your part in the grand scheme? You know you really do
have one.

Today’s Motivation YOUR HEALTH, THE BASIS FOR ALL

YOUR HEALTH, THE BASIS FOR ALL

There is so much in the news today about being healthy,
dieting, increasing vitality and longevity. Fortunately,
more and more are actually doing what it takes to have
health. What have you done today for your health?

Do you watch the kinds of foods you put into your body?
Do you have some form of daily exercise and activity? Are
you drinking plenty of water? There are plenty of simple
solutions to an ever-irritating problem.

Make everyday one in which you incorporate healthy
eating and drinking, more activity and meditation. You
and only you are responsible for your body’s spirit, health
and wellbeing.

"A man's health can be judged by which he takes two at
a time - pills or stairs."
~Joan Welsh (1958 - ) editor-in-chief of Salon.com

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to
live."
~Jim Rohn (1930 – 2009) an American entrepreneur,
author and motivational speaker.

When you are well, life is all about what you want.
When you are ill, life is all about getting well.

Your Daily Motivation A GOAL CAN TAKE YOU ANYWHERE

A GOAL CAN TAKE YOU ANYWHERE

A life without purpose is like a ship without a rudder.
Goals are dreams that are written down.

The purpose of a goal is to focus your attention. Your
mind will reach toward achievement only when it has
a goal.

There is no achievement without goals.

Establish a goal worth working for. Your goal will keep
you going in tough times.

Always have something ahead of you. Continuously
visualize your next step. Keep moving after you achieve
your goal and set another. Momentum is maintained by
always having something to look forward to. Constantly
give yourself something to work for.

Do what you can do well, and do well whatever you can
do and you'll achieve any goal that you set for yourself.

You can plant your dream with a goal.

Today’s Motivation RISK TAKING - WHOO HOO!

RISK TAKING – FIRST STEP TO SUCCESS

Life is inherently risky, full of hazards, jeopardy and
peril. Success is often the result of putting oneself at
risk. Having something at stake, having some “skin”
in the game is usually the first necessary step toward
success. Without peril or hazard you probably won’t
find success.

Putting yourself at risk increases your odds to succeed.
The more attempts you make the greater your chances
of achievement.

Discouragement may be your constant companion as
you search. But, every false step is just another step
forward. Make no attempts, make no mistakes and you
are assured of not making anything.

Convince yourself that you will win though obstacles
continue to present themselves. You can't be a winner
and be afraid to lose.

Today’s Motivation ZIGLAR ON CHARACTER

ZIGLAR ON CHARACTER

Hilary Hinton "Zig" Ziglar (1926 - ) is an American author,
salesperson, and motivational speaker.

Character - the aggregate of features and traits that form
the individual nature of some person or thing, good repute,
qualities of honesty, courage, or the like; integrity.

Here are some of Zig’s thoughts on character. Read through
all of them.

==================

“If standard of living is your major objective, quality of life
almost never improves, but if quality of life is your number
one objective, your standard of living almost always improves.”

“When a company or an individual compromises one time,
whether it's on price or principle, the next compromise is
right around the corner.”

“If people like you they'll listen to you, but if they trust you
they'll do business with you.”

“What you do off the job is determining factor In how far you
will go on the job.”

“Keep your thinking right And your business will be right.”

“Ability can take you the top, but it takes character to keep
you there.”

“The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to his or
her commitment to excellence, regardless of his or chosen
field of endeavor.”

“You build a successful carreer, regardless of your field of
endeavor, by the dozens of little things you do on and off the
job.”

”When you exercise your freedom to express yourself at the
lowest level, you ultimately condemn yourself to live at that
level.”

“With integrity you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing
to hide. With integrity you will do the right thing, so you will have
no guilt. With fear and guilt removed you are free to be and do
your best.”

“When I discipline myself to eat properly, live morally, exercise
regularly, grow mentally and spiritually, and not put any drugs
or alcohol in my body, I have given myself the freedom to be at
my best, perform at my best, and reap all the rewards that go
along with it.”

“When we do more than we are paid to do, eventually we will be
paid more for what we do.”

Today’s Motivation NOBODY’S PERFECT

NOBODY’S PERFECT

Yep, nobody’s perfect and that’s good news. The only place
you’ll find perfection is in Mother Nature’s Universe and in
bowling a perfect game, 10 strikes in a row. That leaves the
rest of us off the hook.

We all know that human beings have flaws and faults and
foibles. Striving for perfection is a hopeless game to play;
one that will leave you frustrated and feeling like a failure.
The best you can expect is being impeccable in all that you
do.

Impeccable is accurate, precise, complete, ideal, thorough,
untarnished.

Impeccable in your work leaves you with a sense of satis-
faction and fulfillment. It means to finish what you start,
doing complete work and functioning at your best and
highest level of ability. You can give no more than 100%,
and there is contentment in that.

Today’s Motivation - HOW TO SURVIVE A CHANGING MARKET

HOW TO SURVIVE A CHANGING MARKET

The rules of yesterday no longer apply today. It’s topsy-turvy
at best. Businesses that have appeared to be institutions now
enter the history books. Business models of the past don’t work.

The world is evolving so fast it can hardly keep up with itself.
The computer of today will be ancient history in 6 months time.
What worked doesn’t.

Change is the only reliable model. How does one keep up? Be
prepared for what is to alter this week? One must be unique.
Have something of value to offer to the marketplace. You must
have a way to distinguish yourself as people seek out the best
of the best.

What’s the most unique thing you have? Everyone has some-
thing to offer that is unique to this world. It is built in and will
never become obsolete. Allow that uniqueness to rise to the
surface and you’ll always have something to bring to the market-
place. What is that uniqueness? It’s YOU.

ACT AHEAD OF THE GAME

Keeping a little ahead of trends and conditions is one of the secrets

Do things now, before they need to be done.

Let your worry become your forward thinking and planning. Set
yourself ahead of time in the place that's best for you.

have the advantage. You'll be the winner.

Today’s Motivation INNER AND OUTER SPACE

INNER AND OUTER SPACE

Do you know this quote?

“Space... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship
Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds;
to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no
man has gone before.”

It, or a variation of it, started every Star Trek episode. Within its
words was a hidden secret to the success of the show. The show
not only explored “strange new worlds” in outer space but it
examined the innermost “Final Frontier”, the kind of space we
each possess within our mind.

The space within a single mind, your mind, my mind, is vastly
more expansive than all of outer space. Yet our inner space is a
much more ominous space to conquer.

You must “boldly go” where you’ve never gone before, stretch
beyond the constraints you have placed upon yourself, explore
new life and new civilizations from within, to be a triumphant
inner space trekker.

"If you do not conquer self, you will be conquered by self."

Today’s Motivation FIND SUCCESS DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

FIND SUCCESS DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

Mark Twain said, "The secret of success is making your vocation
your vacation." Successful people are on an endless vacation.
Not because they don't work hard, but because they love what
they do.

You just won't find anyone who has achieved massive success
by doing something that they hate. To achieve success, you must
find something that you absolutely love to do. Something that
you cannot not do. And do it well. Do it with passion, with excite-
ment, with enthusiasm, with a healthy obsession.

Finding that passion is the key. Dig deep to uncover it and then
put everything into it. When you love what you do, success is not

Your Daily Motivation SUCCESS IS ON YOUR HORIZON

SUCCESS IS ON YOUR HORIZON

You can start at anytime if you want to be successful.
But you have to start.
You won't accomplish anything if you wait for all the
possible objections to be overcome. Taking a new step,
uttering a new word, is what people fear most.

Don't be afraid to live.
Don't wait for things to change.
Don't wait until you have more time, until you are less
tired, until you get the promotion, until you settle down,
until, until, until.
Don't wait for a major event in your life to occur before
you begin to live.

Begin where you are. Work where you are. The hour you
are wasting now, dreaming of some far off success, is
crowded with tremendous possibilities.
When you take the first step, your mind will mobilize all
its forces to assist you. Once you have started, all that is
within and around you will come to your assistance.

The only way to start down the road to success is to start.

Today’s Motivation WHOA, PARTNER, SLOW UP FOR A MINUTE

WHOA, PARTNER, SLOW UP FOR A MINUTE

Our modern world is fraught with the hectic pace of life today. We
rush from here to get to there. We are bombarded by subliminal
advertising and Madison Avenue impressions everywhere we go.
Almost everyone has their hand out looking to get into our wallet.

This looks, smells and tastes like the rat race and you have a choice
here. You can join the frantic mix and disorienting throng or you
can stop, take a slower, kinder, gentler pace.

Ever notice when you drive down a city street how the car that zips
in and out of traffic ends up next to you at the next traffic light?
Ever notice how your kids are another 3 inches taller and you have
no clue how that happened?

So the next time the situation arises that you feel hurried and pressed,
take a deep breath and slow down. An encouraging word, a helpful
gesture, an offer of assistance or real understanding can go a long
way to turn things around. You’ll be pleasantly surprise what the
world is capable of returning.

when necessary, to be adaptable.

Perseverance: to stick with something when reason to continue has
abated.

Organization: to plan, arrange, and implement in an orderly way;
to keep things orderly and ready for use.

Sense of humor: to laugh and be playful without harming others.

Effort: the amount of exertion expended for a specified purpose.

Common sense: to use good judgment; sound practical judgment
that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like;
normal native intelligence.

Problem solving: to create solutions to situations and everyday
problems.

Responsibility: to be accountable for your actions; answerable
or accountable, as for something within one's power, control, or
management.

willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted
with delay

Friendship: to make and keep a friend through mutual trust and
caring; an attraction to another by feelings of affection or personal
regard.

learn or know

to clarify your intention surrounding each.

FAILING WITH CONFIDENCE

Let’s face it. You’re going to fail in life. You’re probably
going to fail more times than you succeed.

If failure occurs the majority of the time what lessons
are readily available for you to learn? What guidance
can failure provide?

Failure is like problems. If you are alive, if you are aware,
you have problems. Same for failing.

Embrace your failures as teacher, instructor, coach and
mentor. Thomas Edison said it best when he declared
this about inventing the light bulb, ““I haven't failed, I've

Today’s Motivation TO FEAR OR NOT TO FEAR

TO FEAR OR NOT TO FEAR

There are only two kinds of fear. There is the fear caused
by real danger like if someone were to hold a knife to your
throat… and there is all other fear caused by your thoughts.

Fear is defined as follows: a distressing emotion aroused
by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is
real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

The key is whether real or imagined. Most of us, fortunately,
rarely if ever face real life threatening fear. There aren’t any
four-legged man-eating predators roaming our streets. And,
our social constraints and laws keep most of the two-legged
variety at bay. So most fear is of the second type – imagined.

How many “what if” situation can you create to cause you
fear? The number is endless. The results are devastating. I
think Franklin D. Roosevelt got it right in his first inaugural
address…

“This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive
and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief
that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless,
unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed
efforts to convert retreat into advance.”

Today’s Motivation EFFECTIVE DIVERSION

EFFECTIVE DIVERSION

Classic wisdom says you must work hard to get ahead
in life. We all know people who have worked very hard
yet are still merely treading financial water. No, it’s not
fair as most of these people are really good folk. But,
what matters is what gets done effectively.

It’s a trap and there is a way out of it. Firstly, learn to
value yourself and your time. Believe that you are a
deserving, valuable and worthwhile individual with
something unique contribute to the world. With that
in mind you’ll find ways to be productive.

Learn to say no firmly and politely. If what someone
asks doesn’t move you toward your desired results,
thank them and say no.

Deal with things as they come up. Problems will find
you. It’s the nature of living. Work on things that need
your attention, deal with your problems head on with-
out putting them off.

Keep focused. With so much “noise” out there you can
be put off your track easily. Become a discerning player,
learn not to take every piece of bait that comes by, especially
the ones that take you off course and are distracting. Read
those goals again! Be confident in your intentions.

Never stop learning. Always seek new ways to do things.
Take in what others have to offer so you can incorporate
the best of the best.

With your sight firmly set on your purpose, any diverting
traps will be easily avoided.

Today’s Motivation ONE STEP AT A TIME – BACKWARDS

ONE STEP AT A TIME – BACKWARDS

Achievement is not haphazard. You need a strategy, a plan
of action.

Great achievements come from a lot of little steps, one after
the other after the other. The successful in life visualize their
goals. Successful people are also able to visualize the pathway
to their goals, the series of steps along the way, but they do it
backward.

Merlin was a wizard who appeared in the tales of King Arthur’s
Court. He lived his life backward starting out as an elder getting
younger as the days passed. He was a great help to Arthur as he
always knew what was going to happen.

Try using a Merlin Exercise. By visualizing your end result first
and working your way backward, step-by-step you can create
from the future back to today. Visualize what the second to last
step in the process is, then what the next step before that and so
forth until you arrive at today. With a Merlin Exercise will you’ll
know exactly what you need to do Today to achieve that goal!

LEADERSHIP IS ACTION NOT POSITION

All successful people became successful, because they
gave some talent or ability in the service of others.

You can contribute in some way to others, no matter how
small your talent. You too, can become successful.

No one achieves success without being of service.

Successful people don't use others, other people use the

Today’s Motivation PAY NOW OR PAY LATER

PAY NOW OR PAY LATER

Great achievement blossoms from constant self-discipline.
With two choices in life it’s easy to take the path of least
resistance and live an effortless life, free from self-discipline,
or you can choose to pay the price for success.

The “easy” life is the less demanding choice. Rewards are
immediate and it is the quickest route to a life of mediocrity.
If you don’t do much, nothing much gets done. So, head for
the lake, sit in front of the TV every night, don’t read a book
or write a business plan. Easy.

A life of self-discipline starts early every day, isn’t always fun
and requires self-control and will. Sometime you must choose
to do the unpleasant things. It isn’t always fun, but you accomp-
lish something, you make something happen in your life.

The late Jim Rohn spoke about the pain of discipline versus
the pain of regret. Either way, he said, you pay the price. You
can choose to pay the price of discipline now, today, and every
day. Or you can choose to pay later with the price of regret. He
pointed out that the price of self-discipline is pennies and the
price of regret is a fortune.

Just imagine the depth of pain you would feel when you realize
it's too late, that you no longer have the energy or the oppor-
tunity to make something of yourself. Wouldn't you rather pay
the small price of self-discipline now, and look back at a life of
accomplishment?

As Jim Rohn said, you can choose to go to the beach today, or
you can work today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and
eventually own the beach.

Today’s Motivation WHAT IS THE QUALITY OF YOUR INTENT?

This quote has got to either get you up out of your chair or
back into it pondering, pondering.

“What is the quality of your intent?

Certain people have a way of saying things that shake us at
the core. Even when the words do not seem harsh or offensive,
the impact is shattering. What we could be experiencing is the
intent behind the words. When we intend to do good, we do.
When we intend to do harm, it happens. What each of us must
come to realize is that our intent always comes through. We can-
not sugarcoat the feelings in our heart of hearts. The emotion is
the energy that motivates. We cannot ignore what we really want
to create. We should be honest and do it the way we feel it. What
we owe to ourselves and everyone around is to examine the
reasons of our true intent.

My intent will be evident in the results.”

~Thurgood Marshall (1908-1993)
