Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #9

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #9

“Ask for feedback from people with diverse backgrounds.
Each one will tell you one useful thing. If you’re at the top
of the chain, sometimes people won’t give you honest feed-
back because they’re afraid. In this case, disguise yourself,
or get feedback from other sources. Focus on those who
will use your product - listen to your customers first.”

Don’t isolating yourself from those you sell to. They know
what they want. Let them advise you. Seek out many
opinions and a lot of input from different kinds of sources.
Success depends upon your responsiveness to the market.

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #8

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #8

“People judge you by your performance, so focus on the
outcome. Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t
used to an environment where excellence is expected.
Advertise. If they don’t know about it, they won’t buy
your product. Pay attention to design. We made the
buttons on the screen look so good you’ll want to lick
them. Design is not just what it looks like and feels like.
Design is how it works.”

Do you come through for people? Do you produce tangible
results?  The little thing do count, the detail, the quality.
Let people know about what you do, who you are, the
excellence you produce.  People are going to judge you
anyway, why not give them something juicy to judge you
upon?

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #7

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #7

“Strive to become a market leader. Own and control the primary
technology in everything you do. If there’s a better technology
available, use it regardless of whether or not anyone else is using
it. Be the first, and make it an industry standard.”

Go all-out, do your very best, set your sights on the top of the
mountain an never look back. Most people don’t remember the
person who came in second place. They remember the frontrunner.
By making yourself the “industry standard” all others must equal
or better you.

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #6

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #6

“Start small, think big. Don’t worry about too many things at
once. Take a handful of simple things to begin with, and then
progress to more complex ones. Think about not just tomorrow,
but the future. Put a ding in the universe.”

Wow, that’s a mouthful, it’s a whole life-ful. Each of us has the
ability to “put a ding in the universe,” leave our mark, have an
affect. It starts with your thinking and in order to leave that
kind of mark you must start with big thoughts. Big thoughts
are just as easy as small inconsequential thoughts.

Set your mind free. Start small. Think big!

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #5

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #5

“Be entrepreneurial. Look for the next big thing. Find a set
of ideas that need to be acted upon quickly and decisively
and jump through that window. Sometimes the first step is
the hardest one. Just take it. Have the courage to follow
your heart and intuition.”

There isn’t much to add to that one. Think I’ll just let it be.
Read it again!

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #4

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #4

“Perform SWOT* analysis. As soon as you join/start a
company, make a list of strengths and weaknesses of
yourself and your company on a piece of paper. Don’t
hesitate to throw bad apples out of the company.”

*SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,
and Threats

Since many of us work as individuals take that piece
of paper and sit in front of a mirror and go to work.
Determine your strengths and weakness. Seek out
your best opportunities. If you find that you are the
rotten apple rather than throw yourself out it’s time
to get to work on you. After all, if you throw out the
bad apple there is nothing left but an empty barrel.

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #3

“Do your best at every job. Don’t sleep! Success generates more success
so be hungry for it. Hire good people with a passion for excellence.”

People who are passionate do excellent work. Excellence breeds excellence.
Guess with whom excellence starts?

Today’s Motivation 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #2

STEVE JOBS 12 RULES TO SUCCESS - #2

Be different. Think different. “Better to be a pirate than to join the navy.”

The world of conformity is well established and well populated. Success
does not spring from concurrence. Those who stand out in a crowd do so
because they are different, unusual or outstanding.

Stimulate new thinking. Take on ideas of others. Meld thoughts to formu-
late different thinking.

Have fun with this one. How outrageous can you be?

Today’s Motivation TWELVE RULES TO SUCCESS

TWELVE RULES TO SUCCESS – STEVE JOBS

Learning from the successful only makes sense. They have carved a
path for us to follow. Smart people will incorporate their thinking.

Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, went from being an unemployed college drop-
out to becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.
And he did it thanks to “12 Rules to Success”.

1. Do what you love to do.

It makes perfect sense, find your true passion and make it your life’s
work. You can make a difference because you get up each day excited
because you are doing what you love to do. The only way to do great
work is to love what you do.

Work on one Rule a day. Today, find your true passion and love and
do it.

Tomorrow - Rule 2.

Today’s Motivation QUIT AND FAIL, PERSIST AND CONQUER

QUIT AND FAIL, PERSIST AND CONQUER

Quitting is the only sure way to fail permanently. You may have set
backs, upsets or crisis as you go through life but persistence will
conquer those.

"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing
that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down."

Today’s Motivation AGAINST ALL ODDS IT WILL PAY OFF

AGAINST ALL ODDS IT WILL PAY OFF

Your back is toward the wall. Against all odds you’ve come this far yet
success is illusive. You’ve seen others move on to be recognized in their
profession and still onward you press toward your personally triumph.

Gratefully, from somewhere your motivation to press on flows because
you know the surest way to fail is to quit.

So you nurture and embrace your motivation and desire knowing full
well that that is the only path to success. From somewhere deep down
within you up flows the fuel to move forward.

For all the thankless days and unnoticed deeds, all the small steps taken
to move forward I applaud your effort, cheer your persistence and en-
courage your endeavor. I promise, the investment in you will pay off.

Today’s Motivation TWO KINDS OF FEAR

TWO KINDS OF FEAR

There are only two kinds of fear.

There is life-threatening fear, such as when you have a gun pointed
at you or a knife at your throat. That is a very real fear.

Then there are all other fears. Fear by means of our thinking and our
thoughts. For instance, you might fear losing your job. It is only your
thought that makes it fearful. Losing your job is not fatal and may even
open doors to new opportunities. It’s all in how you think about a
situation.

Perhaps you need to make a speech in front of 500 people. Making a
speech is not a life-threatening event, but you may make it seem like
it is. The fear of speaking is fear generated by thought.

Manage your thinking and you can manage fear.

Today’s Motivation WHAT IS BEING MOTIVATED?

WHAT IS BEING MOTIVATED?
(for Markenzie)

Being motivated is showing that you care for a project, for people,
for yourself. Being motivated is being arouse, actuated, at cause
for something, driven, excited and on fire for something.

When you are motivated you are galvanized toward some vision
or goal, you are impelled, inspired, determined and propelled. One
who is motivated finds themselves compelled, sparked, energized,
mobilized and stimulated.

Motivation has a focus, it is directed toward something, a person,
a place or a thing. We are motivated about, for, or because.

Find your focus, direction, mission and get motivated about it.
Then watch life blossom before you.

High Five!

Today’s Motivation THERE IS VALUE IN RARITY

THERE IS VALUE IN RARITY

The secret of winning in life lies in seeing life differently – in
its different shades and different outcomes. And that should
be easy because you are different from everyone else on the
planet. Your individuality and your uniqueness scream your
difference and your right to make the most of it.

"Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream."
~Malcolm Muggeridge

"What you think of yourself is much more important than
what others think of you."  ~Seneca

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there
is no path and leave a trail."  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“If you want to succeed, you have to forge new paths and
avoid the borrowed one.” ~John Rockerfeller

There is value in rarity, there is value in you.

Today’s Motivation MASTERING THE ONE SKILL

MASTERING THE ONE SKILL

Listening to the Success Magazine CD this morning, publisher
Darren Hardy interviewed the great human resource and self-
development master Brian Tracy.

Every recording, every seminar, every lecture, every conference
leaves us with at least one memorable key usable idea. This is
what Brian left with me today.

There is one area in each of our lives that, if mastered, would
make the greatest difference for our income and our finances.
We each know what that area is and probably resist addressing
the issue. It is the area that if you were able to wave a magic
wand and instantly master that skill your income would increase
10, 50, 100 times.

So, starting right now face the "unfaceable", focus your entire
being and all of your energies now on mastering that skill. Take
it on as if your financial future depended upon it, because, in
reality, it does.

Thank you Mr. Brian Tracy.

Today’s Motivation EVALUATE AND MOVE ALONG

EVALUATE AND MOVE ALONG

Ever hit a road block? You’ve set things up just so, planned everything to a “T” and you are confident that all will go just as you planned.

Then life happens. Things you have arranged are not in place as expected. It could be a small issue, could be a major one. Either way you react instantaneously in some fashion. How you react makes all the difference.

This is not what I planned on sharing with you today because something went awry. There I was facing a dilemma and a bit upset since I had already written today’s piece. Noticing my reaction to the upset prompted me what to write.

You can choose to embrace an upset, rant and rave, curse and spit, kick something, look heavenward with a raised clenched fist shouting your displeasure. Can you feel your blood pressure rising? Yeah, me too.

OR you can evaluate what went wrong, figure out what needs to be done to move along and get on with life. No blood pressure problem here. No pressure at all.

I strongly recommend evaluate and move along!

Today’s Motivation HOW TO USE THE SECRET

HOW TO USE THE SECRET

Practice The Creative Process daily
Choose a DESIRE on each of these areas: finances, health, relationships and spirituality and follow the 3 steps below. You can start the sentence with: “I am so happy and grateful now that …” (in the present tense). “I am so happy and grateful not that I am in the business of my dreams.”

Step 1: ASK
Ask for what you want. Place the order with the Universe. The Universe will respond to your thoughts and vibration. Affirm: “I am clear about what I want. I give myself permission to dream big and to ask for what I want.”

Step 2: BELIEVE
Believe that is already yours. Believe in the invisible to create the impossible. The Universe in charge of the “HOW.” Affirm: “I trust in a loving Universe in charge of delivering my good now.”

Step 3: RECEIVE
Feel the way you will feel once it arrives. Feel it now. Decide to feel happy now. When you are feeling good you are on the frequency of receiving. Affirm: “I feel worthy of receiving my good now.”

Thanks to my good friend Gloria Ramirez, The Extraordinary Life Transformer, for these simplified steps. www.gloriaramirez.com

Today's Motivation BEYOND FRUSTRATION

BEYOND FRUSTRATION

Even been frustrated?

If you haven’t then you’ve never attempted anything that is out-
side your skill set.

Tony Robbins tells us that all successful people know "success
is buried on the other side of frustration". The only people who
are not ever frustrated are those who never attempt anything.

Being frustrated is routine. People will break their word, machines
break down, projects take longer than anticipated, and accidents
happen. Things can and do go wrong.

Are you going to let those things stop you? Upset you? Knowing
that things will happen to frustrate you will prepare you for the
inevitable. All you have to do is adjust your attitude and you won’t
be stopped, you’ll find a way through, over, under or around the
frustration.

Frustration is a lot like worry. It keeps you busy but doesn’t get you
anywhere. Learn from the frustration producing breakdowns, solu-
tions are a great opportunity for self-improvement and personal
betterment.

Today’s Motivation A TIP OF THE HAT

A TIP OF THE HAT

Most of us have goals. You know where you want to go and
have a desire to get there. Just how far have you come?

Acknowledging how far from your starting point you have
progressed is as important as keeping your eye on the goal.
You can’t know how much you have accomplished without
taking note of miles stones and giving yourself a pat on the back for having come so far.

Look back to when you began the journey to achievement, know what your prize is and congratulate yourself for sticking with it and the steps forward you have made.

Let me be the first to tip my hat to what you have already completed.

Today’s Motivation TAG, YOU’RE IT!

TAG, YOU’RE IT!

Everyone has had a childhood. For some it was a long
time ago. For some it wasn’t so far back since they never
out grew it. You know, the playful, happy-go-lucky ones,
the ones from which many could take a lesson?

The child buried within us has much to provide: a sense
of wonder at the world; a curiosity about everything; a
lighthearted way of being sprinkled with a helping of
mischievousness. As children life was less complex,
more immediate and sensory.

Put yourself in the space of children. Listen to them
laugh and shout, watch them explore and interact,
rekindle and relearn from them. Let the smile of child-
hood wash over you and you’ll be having fun before
you know it. Then… go infect another with the joys of
being a child.

Oh, just in case you didn’t know – TAG, YOU’RE IT!

Today’s Motivation CHANGE FOR A CHANGE

CHANGE FOR A CHANGE

I make it a point to never leave the house with change in my
pocket. When I buy something I almost always get change.
That change gets dropped into a jar every night when I return
home. The jar’s contents always grow.

I use the change for play money when we’re on holiday vacation.

This routine I’ve formed does two things. It creates the habit of
saving, even if it is just a few coins a day and every time I drop
the day’s coins into the jar I remember that there is a vacation
in my future. I am focusing on and attracting my time away, my
leisure time.

A new meaning to cha-ching!

INNOVATION PREDICTS THE FUTURE

Innovation - something new or different introduced; introduction
of new things or methods.

public." ~ Ludwig von Mises

Today’s Motivation GOOD, GOOD, GOOD, GOOD VIBRATIONS

GOOD, GOOD, GOOD, GOOD VIBRATIONS

You control your thoughts, your feelings and your emotions.
You are a conduit into the Universe by virtue of your being a
spiritual energy being. Like any magnet, we know that likes
attract likes. So, the level at which your energy vibrations are
transmitting is what you will get in return.

Operating at your highest and best thoughts and vibration will
return your highest and best results.

Think positive, nurturing, empowering thoughts and you will
attract that which is positive, nurturing and empowering.

Today’s Motivation WHEN TROUBLES SURFACE

WHEN TROUBLES SURFACE

At some point life is going to hand you sour lemons, an upset or
crisis in your life. How you meet it determines your future success
and happiness. All of us will face an unexpected situation at some
point. It is inevitable.

Look closer at the situation and you will find that these situations
are merely masked opportunities. Whether change comes to you
by plan or not, by design or imposition, what takes place next will
either move you forward in life or leave you stuck.

However a crisis or change comes to you take responsibility, give
it a powerful context for growth, transformation, something of
uplifting value. Responding positively to change put you in charge.

A precious stone cannot be polished without friction, nor humanity
perfected without trials. ~Chinese Proverb

Today’s Motivation WHO DO YOU TALK TO THE MOST?

WHO DO YOU TALK TO THE MOST?

Who do you talk to the most? Is it your spouse? Your co-worker?
Your creator? Maybe you children, perhaps someone online?

Truth be told, you talk the most to yourself.

What’s important here is that you listen to what you say to yourself.
That small voice inside your head is constantly chattering away. It
can focus your attention on a myriad of things, both bad and good.

Does it say helpful, uplifting, positive things? Always looking for the
gold in every situation? Or is it putting you and everyone and every-
thing around you down, talking trash and negative?

That little voice has the power of a stadium speaker, loud and clear.
But, the best part is it can be trained. All you have to do and think is
that you are master of your thoughts. Start repeating “I am the master
of my thoughts” at least 50 times, twice a day.

You’ll begin to listen to the small voice in your head in a new way, in
an empowering and encouraging way. This simple shift in who you
talk to the most will alter your state of being and lead you to greater
inner peace and happiness.

I am master of my thoughts. I am…
